Data protection
Privacy Notice
This notice explains, under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), the purposes for which personal data collected through this website is processed and the rights available to data subjects.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Data controller
The data controller is Alim Yılmaz, attorney registered with the Istanbul Bar Association. Office address: Esentepe Mah. Büyükdere Cad. No: 175/7, Levent, Şişli, Istanbul. Requests may be sent to av.alimyilmaz@gmail.com or made by telephone on +90 552 432 30 25.
Personal data processed
Personal data is processed through this site only if you complete the contact form. Simply browsing the site does not cause any data identifying you to be collected.
- Identity: name and surname
- Contact details: email address, telephone number
- Content of your request: the subject line and whatever you choose to write in the message
- Transaction security: IP address, browser information and the time of submission
Purposes of processing
Your data is processed in order to receive and assess your enquiry, to reply to you, to carry out a conflict-of-interest check before any engagement, and to block automated (bot) submissions through the form.
Your data is not used for marketing, newsletters or profiling unless you expressly ask for it.
Legal grounds
Data submitted through the contact form is processed on the grounds set out in Article 5 of the KVKK — that processing is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract, and that it is necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller — and, where you tick the consent box on the form, on the basis of your explicit consent.
If an engagement is entered into, data arising from that relationship is processed additionally under the legal obligations imposed by Attorneyship Law No. 1136 and related legislation, and is subject to the attorney’s duty of confidentiality.
Transfers
Your personal data is held on servers located in Türkiye and is not, as a rule, shared with third parties. Limited transfers may occur only in the following cases:
- To our hosting and email infrastructure providers, so the service can be delivered technically
- To public authorities empowered by law, in response to requests for information or documents made under legislation
Retention
Data submitted through the contact form is retained for a reasonable period so that your request can be assessed and any subsequent dispute evidenced. Where no engagement follows, that period is at most two years, after which the data is deleted or anonymised.
Where an engagement is entered into, case data is retained for the periods prescribed by the Attorneyship Law and related legislation.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed; to request information if it is; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose; to know the third parties to whom it is transferred at home or abroad; to request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate; to request its erasure or destruction; to request that such steps be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred; to object to a result reached to your detriment solely through automated analysis; and to claim compensation for loss caused by unlawful processing.
Requests may be sent through the contact channels above, together with information establishing your identity. Your application will be answered within thirty days at the latest.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising, tracking or profiling cookies. Strictly necessary cookies, and a cookie remembering your language preference, may be used; these do not require consent.
If a bot-protection service is used on the contact form, that service may set its own technical cookies. The map on the contact page loads only when you click it: no connection is made to the map provider unless you ask for one.
Security and confidential documents
Absolute security cannot be guaranteed for communications sent over the internet. You are therefore advised not to send confidential documents or information through the contact form or by email before an initial meeting. The protection attaching to attorney-client confidentiality begins once an engagement is in place.
